This wonderful vista was along a short stretch of road not far from the location where the lone tree for the painting "Standing Tall" was done.

It had already been a long day, having slowly traversed many miles along a rough dirt and gravel road when I finally came to a crossroad. I was now faced with a decision.

Turn left and I head back towards civilization. Turn right and I have no idea. There was only one logical solution. Turn right!!

I’m glad my natural desire to see what’s around the next bend was still with me, despite my tiredness. This was what I had been looking for all day. I returned to this spot at different times to determine what light was the best and determined that late morning would be best to highlight the features along this mountain road.
