Finally
at this stage I add a few more small details and highlights to the
foreground area and decided to brighten the ground area with a
thin glaze* of color. Glazes are useful in not only adjusting a
value but also for adjusting the intensity of an underlying color.
At this point I complete the painting with my signature.
* A glaze is a technique whereby a transparent dark color thinned
with medium is typically brushed over a dry and generally lighter
color, though not always, which then produces a visual mix between
the underlying color and the glaze color.
