STEP SIX

Finally at this stage I add a few more small details and highlights to the foreground area and decided to brighten the ground area with a thin glaze* of color. Glazes are useful in not only adjusting a value but also for adjusting the intensity of an underlying color. At this point I complete the painting with my signature.
* A glaze is a technique whereby a transparent dark color thinned with medium is typically brushed over a dry and generally lighter color, though not always, which then produces a visual mix between the underlying color and the glaze color.
The remaining part of this lesson is viewing two enlarged areas of the painting. Click on  Go to Step Seven to proceed.
