The standard color wheel is represented by 12 Hues. The primary colors are Yellow, Red and Blue. Secondary colors are achieved when you mix two of the primaries. (Yellow + Red = Orange; Red + Blue = Violet and Yellow + Blue = Green) The third or tertiary colors are derivatives of the secondary colors by adding more of the primary colors. (Green + Yellow = Yellow Green; Green + Blue = Blue Green; Violet + Blue = Blue Violet; Violet + Red = Red Violet; Orange + Yellow = Yellow Orange and finally Orange + Red = Red Orange.  When you analyze a color you wish to mix, start by classifying it. Is it Green? If so, what green? Does it shift to the yellow side or blue side or in between. If it's to the yellow side, then it's Hue is Yellow Green.
